The annual PCCS senior swimming carnival was held on
Tuesday 5 February at the Oasis Pool. The overcast weather did not dampen the
enthusiasm of students as they eagerly participated in races and cheered from
the sidelines. Thank you to staff and parents who assisted and congratulations
to our students who participated for their excellent sportsmanship and
behaviour on the day.
Many new records were set at our carnival.
Congratulations to Amy (50m Breaststroke), Tyler (50m Freestyle,
Backstroke, Breaststroke and 200m Freestyle), Caitlin (50m Freestyle and
Butterfly), Catherine (50m Freestyle, Breaststroke and Backstroke),
Latia (100m Freestyle and 200m freestyle), Zen (50m Freestyle
and 200m Freestyle), William (50m Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly),
Dylan (50m Breaststroke and 200m Freestyle), Zac (50m
Breaststroke) and Kytelan (200m Freestyle).
Congratulations also to the 2013 Swimming Age Champions Amy (12yrs Girls), Ashlee (13yrs Girls), Lochie (13yrs Boys),
Tyler (14yrs Girls), Kytelan (14yrs Boys), Latia (15yrs Girls), Dylan (15yrs Boys), Caitlin (16yrs Girls),
William (16yrs Boys), Catherine (17yrs Girls) and Zen (18yrs Boys).
Finally, the overall
champion house was Norman with 319 points, followed by Bradman (182) and
Goolagong (114).
From this carnival, 25 students were offered the
opportunity to represent the school at the zone swimming carnival on Friday 22
February in Tamworth, however, due to the date clashing with our secondary
school camps, our students chose not to attend.
